TREASURE HUNT PRIZE DRAW
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Promoter: Clue Capers Ltd (company number 09867260), registered in England and Wales with its registered office at Upper Floors, 1 The Broadway, Winchester SO23 9BE (“the Promoter”).

1. The Promotion
1.1 The “10th Anniversary Armchair Treasure Hunt” (the “Promotion”) is a paid treasure hunt competition culminating in a prize draw.
1.2 Participants may be gifted or purchase either:

A physical printed treasure hunt map; or
-
A digital downloadable treasure hunt map.
1.3 Participants who correctly solve the treasure hunt and submit the correct final answer will be entered into a random prize draw to win a free escape room experience.
1.4 This Promotion is a prize draw and not a lottery under the Gambling Act 2005. Entry requires skill (solving the treasure hunt), and the prize is awarded at random only among those who submit a correct answer.
2. Eligibility
2.1 The Promotion is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over.
2.2 Employees of the Promoter, their immediate family members, agents, or anyone professionally connected with the Promotion are not eligible to enter.
2.3 The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of age, identity, and eligibility. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification.
3. How to Enter
3.1 To enter the Promotion, participants must:

Be gifted or purchase an official treasure hunt map (physical or digital) from the Promoter;

Correctly solve the treasure hunt; and
-
Submit the final answer via the official entry form at: cluecapers.co.uk/xmarksthespot/ before the Closing Date.
3.2 Only one entry is permitted per map purchased.
3.3 Entries must be received by 23:59 on 31 March 2026 (“Closing Date”).
3.4 Only entries containing a correct final answer will be entered into the prize draw. There may be more than one correct answer.
3.5 The Promoter accepts no responsibility for:
-
Lost, delayed, incomplete or corrupted submissions;

Technical failures affecting downloads or submissions;
-
Postal delays or delivery failures outside the Promoter’s reasonable control.
4. Purchase Terms (Physical and Digital Maps)
4.1 Physical Maps
Physical maps are goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and must be:

As described;
-
Of satisfactory quality; and
-
Fit for purpose.
Where purchased online, consumers may have cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
4.2 Digital Maps
Digital maps constitute digital content under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
By purchasing a digital map, the customer expressly agrees that:

Immediate access or download may begin upon purchase; and
-
The 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations will be lost once download or access begins.
Digital content must be:
-
As described;
-
Of satisfactory quality; and
-
Fit for purpose.
If digital content is faulty, customers are entitled to repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with statutory rights.
5. The Prize
5.1 The prize consists of:
One (1) free standard escape room or escape game experience for up to six (6) players delivered by the Promoter (approximate retail value up to £144).
5.2 The prize:
-
Is non-transferable and non-exchangeable;
-
Has no cash alternative;
-
Must be redeemed within 12 months of issue (unless otherwise stated);
-
Is subject to availability and the Promoter’s standard booking terms.
5.3 Travel, accommodation, food, and any additional purchases are not included.
5.4 The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of equal or greater value where necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
6. Winner Selection and Notification
6.1 One winner will be selected at random from all eligible correct entries within 14 days of the Closing Date.
6.2 The draw will be conducted using a verifiable random selection process.
6.3 The winner will be notified via the email address provided at entry within 7 days of the draw.
6.4 If the winner does not respond within 14 days of notification, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
6.5 In accordance with UK advertising and consumer protection regulations, the surname and county of the winner may be made available upon request. Participants may object to this disclosure or request limited disclosure; however, the Promoter may still be required to provide this information to the Advertising Standards Authority upon request.
7. Data Protection
7.1 The Promoter will process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
7.2 Personal data will be used for:

Administering the Promotion;

Contacting the winner;
-
Complying with legal and regulatory obligations.
7.3 The lawful bases for processing are:

Performance of a contract (administering the competition); and

Legitimate interests (ensuring proper administration of the Promotion).
